GALLIGAN KATHERINE ZEEB "KATY" Age 79, of Livonia, died peacefully on Wednesday August 21, 2013. Beloved wife of James for 56 years. Loving mother of Elizabeth "Betsy", John (Cindy) and Amy (David) Clark. Dear sister of Marcia (Charles) Masser of Cary, North Carolina. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Katy was born in Jackson, Michigan, was a 1952 graduate of Jackson High School and a 1956 graduate of Michigan State University. She began a career as a teacher in Jackson and later Pinckney, but left teaching to become a homemaker and care for her children. She was actively involved in her church, enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach and working in her hosta and herb gardens, was skilled at cross-stitch, and loved cooking and decorating for the holidays. Katy will be remembered for her quiet, kind and gentle spirit. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 13, with luncheon to follow at Newburg United Methodist Church, 36500 Ann Arbor Trail, Livonia, (734) 422-0149.
