I always enjoyed seeing Manfred and his beautiful wife at obrien's. He was always so polite and gave me great advice with my schooling. One of my favorite couples that came in, and so proud of their daughters. So very sorry for your loss, he will be greatly missed.

Its still incomprehensible for us...
We have got to know Manfred as sympathetic, intelligent, cosmopolitan and generous man.
So we will keep him in our mind.

I met Manfred when he was a young man at the Boston VA Hospital where he was an intern with Dr. Edith Kaplan. He was, back then, and throughout his career, an iconoclast-- he was a solid team member but was never afraid to question orthodoxy or express his own unique views on a situation. Manfred was smart, caring and thoughtful person. Over the years he provided mentorship to many students and colleagues.
My heart goes out to Galina, Erika and Olivia- he was so proud of his family and they were always a topic of conversation when we saw Manfred at professional meetings. We join you in your grief and will miss him greatly

We had the good fortune of knowing Manfred and Galina for many years and were deeply saddened by his sudden passing. We especially will always remember the many times we met and enjoyed conversation and dinner with them on many Sunday evenings at a favorite restaurant. Manfred was a brilliant neuropsychologist and true and caring friend who will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and our prayers are with you dear Galina, Olivia and Erica.

Galina, Olivia and Erika: We have been thinking of all of you at this most difficult time in your life. Dr. Greiffenstein will be greatly missed by so many including his family, friends and patients. I only met him one time at your home and he was most pleasant, gracious and seemed to me to be a very caring gentleman. I hope to see you sometime soon and able to visit with you. We are unable to attend his memorial service, but will be thinking of you on that day. Peace to you, Galina, Olivia, Erika and restful peace to Dr. Greiffenstein.

Manny was a very intelligent and kind man. He was highly valued by many colleagues including myself. His thinking influenced the whole field of clinical neuropsychology. He stood for objectivity and science in a field dominated by opinions that are ill informed or biased by vested interests. We need more people like Manny. I am very sorry to see him go so young and so quickly. Only the good die young it seems. Paul Green, British Columbia, Canada
