It's been over a year my friend and I'll always miss you as you were a wonderful friend to me and my dad...only wishful thinking that I talked to you a year before you got sick...Love you Mel!

Susan, Brenda and Ira, I only just heard about Mel after accidentally running across his obituary. I was so sorry to see it. I have very fond memories of Mel, particularly from the annual sedars at Bea's house. He and my dad would loudly debate everything baseball. Please accept my belated condolences, and I hope that we can catch up sometime soon. All the best, Betsy

I tried to get in touch with his sister Brenda, and son Brett on face book several years or more. I didn't know where Mel was.I didn't get a answer. My father and Mel's dad Paul were forever friends in Michigan. My mother passed away and Paul and his wife and Mel couldn't have been nicer and with so much respect for my dad. My dad got sick in Mi and I was there for 7 weeks and became very good friends with Mel. He treated my dad like his own. He had more compassion for my dad then my sister. He came to the hospital every day or night for over 6 weeks and helped me thru a very difficult time. How could anyone not love Mel...he may have had personal problems but had a heart of gold. I dreamed about him last night the whole night and I imagine that he wanted me to know he passed away. My heart is heavy and words can't express how sorry I am that we lost contact. He will always be in my heart with love. Condolences to his son , daughter and sisters.

Brett- he wanted to know if he wanted to for a ride in the car. Part of yer dude. I told you I was sick. His face slathered with bbq sauce. Breezy knees. Dadooooooo. Jerrrrrrrry. Those are the things I'll never forget about your dad. Oh how he made us laugh. Just the thought of his eccentricities and uniqueness for be forever in our hearts. You were remarkable today. A vision of your dad. Best to you forvever
