Sherry Palmer Obituary
SHERRY ANN Age 77, of Grosse Ile. March 12, 2017. Loving mother of Michael Lanava, William (Kathleen) Lanava, and Laura (Douglas Callahan) Nabozny. Proud grandmother of Grant Douglas Nabozny, Neill Matthew Nabozny, and Gia W. Lanava. Dear sister of Ronald (Bette) Bush, Donna (Robert) Paavo, and Marjorie Mehlhose. Dearest aunt of Stacey Mehlhose, Jeffrey Paavo, and Jody (Leandra) Paavo. Preceded in death by parents, Oscar and Dorothy Bush and husbands, William Lanava (d. 1969) and Douglas Palmer (d. 1990). She was an excellent cook, took great pleasure in making everyone's favorites and cherished time spent with family sharing delicious home-cooked meals. Thanksgiving was one of her favorite holidays which will never be the same without her. Her knitting projects are treasured and she shared her talents selflessly, donating hats to those less fortunate. She loved animals and was employed as a dog groomer later in life. Grooming was not a job, it was a passion. When walking down the street, an opportunity to paw-shake was never passed upon. Gardening and trips to the nursery gave her pure delight. She nurtured selectively chosen plants with loving care and was rewarded when they filled her soul with their beauty. Above all, she loved her family. The warmth of her love will forever shine upon us. She was loyal, dedicated, loving, and kind. She will be greatly missed by those blessed to have known her. May she rest in peace. Dear family of Sherry's. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I was a good friend of the Palmer family. I remember all the children when they were younger. I would often run into your Mom at Schwartzs nursery buying flowers. She was an awesome cook! May you find Peace knowing she is now an angel to watch over all of you.

Mike, Billy & Laura: How sad i was to receive the call from Laura about "Mom". I had a flood of wonderful childhood memories come to mind after that call. She was a strong, loving and caring mom to all of us. She will be missed.

Dear Sherry's Family,
My husband and I extend our deepest sympathy for the loss of my friend Sherry. I went to school with Sherry and we have been friends for many years. She was always a kind, thoughtful person and a nice person to have as a friend.
She is up in heaven now teaching the Angels to knit, lucky for them! We will miss her and her good humor. Prayers go out to ease your pain at your loss.
