I had knew him since I was in Trimble Tech HS from 1973-1978. I am hard of hearing. He was so funny and really nice man. He checked if Herschel Wright around and he said he is here or not. I surely missed to see him and will meet him again in Heaven.

A.L. was my cousin and someone I looked forward to seeing on his many visits to California. Hearing of his adventures and many different National Park Service summer jobs sure kept me entertained as a boy. I'm sure that my two boys wish that he would have never taught me the two finger shoulder squeeze that he always gave me as a form of hello!

It is with great sadness that I learned of his passing. One of my favorite cousins and I thought of him often even though the miles separated us for many years. My love and condolences to all his dear family that he loved so dearly.

Mr. McElroy: what a true pleasure it was to get to know you. I wasn't done enjoying you. Who would have ever thought when I bought your house three years ago we would become good friends. Your thoughtfulness, wit, and intellect made the moments with you a true joy. You introduced me to classical music, resurrected my interest in Jaguars, and added to my knowledge of Ft. Worth history. I'll miss you.

Mr McElroy was my favorite teacher at Tech High School 1955 to 1957.He is the only teacher that i asked to sign my 1957 annual.
I was not a great student, but Mr McElroy helped me to be a better one. The world will miss a great and wonderfull human being.

Mr. Mac,
There is so much to miss; your wit and wisdom, conversations about a myriad of subjects from travel to investment strategies, your dry sense of humor, the ribbings and chiding, the Guayabera shirts, wonderful food and your emphatic refusal to enter my classroom and share those stories of your adventures behind enemy lines in WWII! You truly lived each day to its fullest. Thank you for being a second Dad (you were much too young to be a second granddad!)
You left a legacy of friends, coworkers and students; your FWISD family. We loved you!

I remember sitting across the desk from Mr. Mc talking about what I needed to graduate, and how scary high school seemed to be, but with his help, I made it through. I graduated from Tech High School in 1975. Thanks for the memories.

Now the laborer’s task is over;
Now the Battle day is past;
Now upon the farther shore
Lands the voyager at last.
It is with great sorrow that we part with our friend "Mac"on this side of Jordan, but oh what joy when we meet on the other side. When we reach that blessed homeland, Where there's everlasting day; On that bright and blessed morning, God shall wipe all tears away.
Always bear in mind that spirit was never born and spirit can never die. Remember that God gives grace for each trial, and courage for each sorrow and faith to face in confidence a blessed, sweet, blissful and bright tommorrow.
I had the pleasure of working with Mr. McElroy for many years as a faculty member at Green B. Trimble Tech High School, Fort Worth, Texas. He was always a warm, compassoniate and caring co-worker. As I go to my Father in prayer, I will ask for a special blessing for the entire McElroy Family.
With warm regards,
James Brown, Retired Educator

I lost a dear friend, travel companion, and former co-worker when our beloved Mr. Mc passed on Tuesday. He loved good food and red wine, exchanging recipes and watching the foodtv channel, especially Rachel Ray Travels. He will be missed more than he will ever know. Until we meet again, dear friend.
