Alan Eakins Obituary
Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lucas Funeral Chapel in Hurst. Visitation: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present beginning at 1 p.m.
A native of Odessa, Alan was born Dec. 16, 1961, to James W. Eakins Jr. and Sharron Whetstone. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years. He was a master mechanic for David McDavid Honda in Irving. A fanatic NASCAR fan, he also enjoyed the Dallas Cowboys and RVing with his family.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors: Wife, Cathy Eakins; children, Kellie Reynolds and husband, Kyle, Gary Eakins and wife, Sharelle, Bobby House and wife, Alisha, Jamie Fabel and husband, Jordan; grandchildren, Vestina Eakins, Eddie Eakins, Maleia Fabel, Colin Reynolds and soon-to-be-born Deagan Fabel; mothers, Sharron Luckey and husband, Dan, Marge Eakins; grandmother, Betty Whetstone; brothers, Bill Eakins and wife, Susan, James W. Eakins III and wife, Icko, Jason Pritchard; sister, Marlaina Applewhite and husband, Denny; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
