Barbara Stevens Obituary
A graduate of Texas Christian University with degrees in chemistry and theology, Ann was a dedicated educator and later a pioneer in the United Methodist Church, becoming one of the early women ordained in ministry in North Texas.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hoyt Stevens, and her parents, John and Avis Livingston. Ann is survived by her children, John (Tammy) Stevens and Debbie (Jimmy) Eller; her brother David (Mary Cae) Livingston; grandchildren DeeAnn, Samantha (Wade), Erin (Alverto), Christi (Robbie), Allie (Corey), and Kaylee (Cameron); and nine great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ann will be remembered for her strength, faith, hospitality, and the deep love she poured into her family and community. She truly embodied Galatians 5: 22-23, the Fruits of the Spirit.
A celebration of life will be held at a memorial service on Saturday, November 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at Springtown First United Methodist Church located at 109 W. 3rd Street, Springtown, Texas 76082. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Ann's name to Springtown FUMC or Manna Storehouse in Weatherford, Texas.
