Barney Allen Haugen Jr. AZLE--Barney Allen Haugen Jr., 73, of Azle, passed away on Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at his home. FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, White's Funeral Chapel, Springtown, Texas. Interment follows in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2018, White's Funeral Chapel, Springtown, Texas. Barney A. Haugen Jr. was born in Tampa, Fla., to Barney Allen Haugen Sr. and Nina Belanger Haugen on Dec. 10, 1944. The Haugen family moved from McDill Air Force Base in Florida to Azle, Texas, in 1946. He later operated Haugen Texaco and Barney's Exxon in Lake Worth. He then returned to General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin where he eventually retired in 2012. Barney was an avid hunter and fisherman in his early adult life. Since retirement, he had become a collector of any and all things that he felt someone might need. Just going back in time. I remember working with Barney and for a while he was my supervisor on second shift . Very nice guy and very fair also . I ran into him at Wal Mart a few times after I retired in 2012. We where always happy to see each other. GOOD MEMORIES

I never met Barney or his father Bjarne, but I have recently discovered they are relatives of mine. Bjarne emigrated from the neighboring island where my mother comes from.

Condolences to family and friends.

So sorry to hear of Barney's passing. We went through school together and were friends. I remember years later buying gasoline from him in Lake Worth and we would talk about our school days.
Blessings to all his family,
