Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lake Worth Baptist Church. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Biggers Funeral Home.
Betty Fay McLennan was born Sept. 15, 1915, in Comanche County, the daughter of Matt and Cora Mowell.
She married Wallace C. McLennan Dec. 21, 1935, in Haskell County. In 1942, they moved to Tarrant County.
In 1953, she and her husband built and operated Lake Worth Nursing Home, the first privately-owned and operated nursing home in the Fort Worth area.
We loved her well. May God watch over our beloved "Betty Cat."
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace, June 2, 2000; and by eight brothers and sisters.
Survivors: Children, James McLennan and wife, Jackie, W.D. "Bodie" McLennan and wife, Suzie of Fort Worth, Glenda Smith and husband, Tommy of Lakeside; grandchildren, Kim Payne, Bruce McLennan, Jim McLennan, Jay McLennan, Kelly Smith, Thom Smith, Matt McLennan and Ashley McLennan; dear friend, Shawn Hughes; great-grandchildren, Hood Whitson, Kristen McLennan, Alex McLennan, Reid Smith, Payton Smith, Macy McLennan and Katy McLennan.
