Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations or living tributes to the National Audubon Society would be appreciated.
Brent grew up in Ovid, Mich., but he also made his home in Grand Rapids, Mich., and the Dallas area. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961-1969.
Among other things, Brent will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his love of birds and his passion for photography.
Brent was preceded in death by his father, Ellwood Austin; his mother, Jeanella Andersen Austin; and his sister, Valerie Austin Jordan.
Survivors: He is lovingly remembered by his children and their spouses, Brian and Eveline Treffers Austin, Kimberly Austin Forrest and Rob Forrest, and Shelly Austin Batterbee and Rob Batterbee; his grandchildren, Cecelia, Geoffrey and Lauren Batterbee, and Carolyn and Nicholas Forrest; and his siblings, Woody Austin, Kermit Austin, Cynthia Duncan and Candace Lyon.
