We are long time patrons of Mercados, and would always ask for Brett's section. He was the best server, so kind, thoughtful, and always had a good joke or piece of trivia to share. We always looked forward to Brett taking a break at our table to just chat about life and catch up on things. Our visits to Mercados will never be the same. We were so sad to hear of his passing when visiting Mercados today. We loved Brett and will truly miss him. Our love and prayers to the family. For Brett, I am sure he is in heaven telling one of his many jokes.

Not sure I ever knew a nicer guy. Met Brett in middle school band and hit it off. In high school became very good friends. Glad to have been able to stay in touch throughout the years. Brett went with me to Russia in January 1994. Definitely not the best weather to travel in Russia, but it was a blast!! Rest in peace my friend, you are truly missed!

In loving memory of a wonderful and very loving person, my little brother. Brett gave the BEST hugs and was a great listener. I will love you and miss you forever. I'm sorry we're not going to get to go fishing this summer, Brett, but we'll do it in heaven soon enough! ✝
