Brian Jolin Obituary

Brian Jolin
August 13, 1970 - July 6, 2022
Fort Worth, Texas - Brian Matthew Jolin, age 51, died Wednesday, July 6, 2022 in Fort Worth, Texas at the end of his two-year journey with colon cancer. Brian was born August 13, 1970 to James Jolin and Claire Wildgen in Bremerton, Washington. He graduated from Central Kitsap High School and went on to earn his degree from the University of Puget Sound. Brian was proud of his Washington roots but also loved being a Texan for the past 29 years.
Brian worked for many years as a manufacturer's representative for many lines in several states and really thrived in his career these past several years as the owner of Jolin Promo. Brian loved connecting with clients and building relationships with them. He really enjoyed being a part of positive change in the industry and mentoring others.
Brian married Jennifer Taylor in 1996. Brian loved his family, and his favorite role was being Thomas' dad. Brian enjoyed coaching youth sports, being active in various roles at First United Methodist Church, and volunteering in many organizations. He served in the youth ministry for 16 years and was active in his Sunday School class, Room in the Inn, and on various boards of the church. He was a CASA volunteer, served as the president of his neighborhood association, and was very proud to be a part of the team that brought Creative Mornings to Fort Worth. Brian was an incredible Santa and experienced so much joy from playing that role in the community. And of course, creating a crazy Christmas card was a highlight for him each year!
Brian was the epitome of a people person! His outgoing and caring spirit touched everyone he met. His amazing positivity, transparency, and sense of humor affected every part of his life, including his journey with cancer. He was very passionate about social justice issues and sought to be a good ally.
A memorial service for Brian will be held Friday, August 5 at 3:00 at First United Methodist Church, 800 W. 5th Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76102.
Instead of flowers, please honor Brian's memory in these ways: 1. Get your colonoscopy! If you're 45 or older or if you have symptoms, please do this now. Brian was passionate about the importance of this! 2. Stand up of the marginalized in our society and vote like you mean it! 3. Give to these fantastic organizations: First Street Methodist Mission https://fumcfw.org/mission/, The Welman Project https://thewelmanproject.org, and Jordan Elizabeth Harris Foundation https://jordanharrisfoundation.org.
Brian is survived by his wife Jennifer, his son Thomas, his mother Claire Wildgen, his sister Rebecca Johnson, his stepbrother David Woodruff, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father James Jolin.

Brian was a lion with a heart of gold. He wasn't afraid to share his opinions and never backed down from a debate, regardless of the topic. Even so, he was a willing listener and was always open to hearing your point of view. Brian and I agreed on many things and disagreed a few times as well, but we were always friends. I'll cherish the conversations we had and how his life has inspired me to be a better Bill. Rest easy, lover of the candy corn.

To Brian's family, thank you for sharing him and his gifts with us. He truly was an inspiration to all who met him.

Brian was one of the first people to give me the warmest welcome to Fort Worth when I moved here from Florida two years ago. I met him at CreativeMornings. Last year, I helped him design some fun colon comic socks for promo items and I always loved feeling his energy through text. So happy and so funny!! I will definitely miss having him around.

Jennifer, I'm glad you were married and had a son in the youth division. Brian didn't need to leave this early in life.
