I remember Mr. Layne from West Handley Elementary from when I was in the 6th grade, about 1960, although I wasn't in his class. Sorry to hear of his passing.

I so remember what a sweet man, teacher and administrator he was. He always wore dress slacks, dress shirt and tie! I enjoyed his classes! RIP Mr Layne. Prayers for comfort to his family!

My paths crossed so many times with the Layne family! Mr. Layne was my 5th grade teacher at West Handley and later I was taught by his wife at EHHS. I knew his daugjter in school and later enjoyed Scouting with her husband. My heartfelt condolences to Lynda and the family.

I remember Cecil well as the Vice Principal at Handley Middle School in Fort Worth ISD back in the 1970's when I worked part-time for the FWISD. He was a kind and gentle man who was always dedicated to his kids and his work, and fellow employees. Cecil always demonstrated integrity and professionalism while managing the many challenges of young and sometimes rambunctious children testing their boundaries and growing pains. And calming the parents' nerves during trying times. Cecil made his mark in the world by nurturing young minds with compassion and by example. May he go quietly into that good night with peace and love. He will be remembered as a positive and loving role-model for many years to come by all who had the good fortune of sharing his life and legacy, as an educator and friend. Peace unto you, my friend.
