Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Euless. Burial: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 p.m. Thursday at Eden Estates, 1997 Forest Ridge, Bedford.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Miracle Fund at First Baptist Church, 1000 W. Airport Freeway, Euless, Texas 76039.
Charles Dunn was born March 8, 1920, in Johnson City, Tenn. Charles was in the Air Force for 22 years. He was the first commissioned optometrist in the Air Force. After receiving a degree in hospital administration from Baylor University at Fort Sam Houston, he worked for the surgeon general as a hospital planner.
Upon retiring from the Air Force, Charles was a hospital planning consultant. He opened White Rock Nursing Home in Dallas. He was once the administrator of Doctors Hospital in Dallas. Many hospitals in small towns of Texas and Oklahoma were built under his direction, including the Space Center Hospital in Houston.
Survivors: Wife of 63 years, Jerry Dunn; daughters, Beverly Phillips and husband, Steve, Katherine Williams and husband, Don, Carmen Edwards, Marty Mauch and Susan Gammon and husband, Bob; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

As a young boy grows up, his life is inevitability influenced by the example set not only by his Dad, but by the men his Dad chooses as friends and those men his Dad respects. In my life, Charles Dunn was one of those men. I am grateful for the example he set of what it truly means to be a man of God.
