Working with Charlie at Southwest HS was an honor and privilege. He was such a compassionate math teacher and he loved his "kids" like they were his own. My deepest sympathy to your family. He will be missed.

Dear Susan,
Susan and I are so sorry for your loss. Charley was a dear friend and I will miss him. I remember our first meeting - it was at Paschal High School where he had brought his Dunbar math club students to compete in our Charity Math Meet. I have never been able to comprehend how he could teach four different high level math courses to so many talented students his very first year of teaching. But he did and he did it admirably. His humble smile conveyed confidence and an inner strength that only love for our Lord provides. He helped me with many projects and was always a reliable "sounding board" for my ideas and observations. I will miss him!!
God bless you and your family.
