Fort Worth, Texas - Christie Lee Wester Dolive, 54, passed away suddenly on February 22, 2023.
Christie was born November 27, 1968 in Fort Worth to Brooks H. and Melynda Wester. She traveled extensively throughout Europe from the time she was seven years old with her parents who led youth study trips abroad. During her teen years, she traveled from Florida up the East Coast to Bangor, Maine. After high school, she graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a double major in Criminal Justice and Criminology and a minor in Social Work. She began her career as a Parole Officer for the Texas State Board of Pardons and Parole with a territory in Tarrant and Johnson Counties. She was later promoted to a Hearing Officer from which she retired after 26 years of service.
In 1994, she met the love of her life, Mark Dolive. They were married in 1996 in a Civil War era wedding in St. Stephen Presbyterian Church with her father as officiant. They were married for 27 years. Christie and Mark had an annual tradition to head east and visit Colonial Williamsburg for the "Grand Illumination" where they celebrated the start of the Christmas season. They would then the tour the East coast, particularly the culinary delights of Savannah and Charleston.
Christie was a big supporter of all law enforcement agencies. She was greatly interested in the involvement of service dogs and K-9 operations.
She is survived by husband, Mark; mother, Melynda Wester; uncle, Wally Wester and wife, Jane; along with many cousins. She loved her Shelties and tuxedo cats.
She had boundless energy, a wicked sense of humor, and would be happy to share her opinions. She will be deeply missed by friends and family.
Graveside Service: 11am Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas.
