Cindy Harris Obituary

Cindy Harris passed on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Family visitation: Noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Woman's Choice Resource Center in care of Sagamore Baptist Church. Cindy was born Aug. 15, 1961, to Buck and Carolyn Harris. She graduated from Eastern Hills High School and St. Mary's University in San Antonio. Cindy's parents were very pleased with the fact that she had a strong heart for the homeless and other hurting people. She would often drive to the areas they were known to frequent and hand out bottles of water and all the money she had. She would put her hands on them and pray for their needs. Often she spoke of her dream to have a home for abused children and battered women. After years of struggling, Cindy has now gone to her home in heaven where she is finally enjoying peace and happiness. Survivors: Parents, Buck and Carolyn Harris; brother, Tim Harris and wife, Tammy; sister, Cathy Bartolowitz and husband, Joe; nieces and nephews, Ashley and Casey Frank, Carly Vozeh and husband, Timothy, Cliff Harris and wife, Savannah, Clay Harris and wife, Rebekah; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Harris... I knew Cindy when she was attending college here in San Antonio. I worked at the flea market where she sold her merchandise. I remember she came across the aisle and introduced herself to me... she had a warm handshake and beautiful smile. I knew instantly that this young woman had a heart of gold. I worked on weekends at the market with my 3 little boys and Cindy immediately embraced the 4 of us. We became friends for her remaining years in college and after she graduated we still remained friends. I was sorry we lost touch some years ago. I looked for her through the internet but was unable to find her. I wanted to ask her to attend my oldest son's wedding. My boys all remember her fondly because she was so sweet with them. I am so very sorry that she is gone. May the Lord offer your family comfort during this very difficult time. You raised a loving, compassionate, sweet child. I truly loved her.

Harris family I am a hairstylist that has known your Mom for years. I would see
Cindy pop in to the Salon on many occasions and she was always so cheerful.
I have children the same age and even having the comfort of being a Christian it would be so hard to lose one of my children. Carolyn I love you and my heart goes out to you and your family.
The Lord Bless and Keep You. Sharron Harley

I'll never forget Cindy's perpetual smile! Even Betty Crawford, Cindy's Sunday School teacher at the time, told her son Brad and me one morning, "she smiles so much that she has bug stains on her teeth, because she rides a motorcycle!" It was true. Cindy always had a smile for you in the halls of EHHS. Our most sincere condolences for the Harris family. We'll be praying for you all in the coming days as you mourn the loss of your sweet Cindy.
