Cody Thomas Obituary

Cody James Thomas passed during the night while sleeping at home on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, following 12 months battling an undiagnosed nerve disorder. Memorial service: 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, Colleyville. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials: As an alternative to flowers, you can make a small donation to the Cody Thomas Memorial Account at Chase Bank. Cody was born on March 10, 2009, the happiest day of our lives. His final days were spent doing all his favorite things with his loving family. In the course of his short lifetime, Cody touched hundreds of people around him. He showed everyone the power of a smile, a tremendous sense of humor, an incredible spirit and the beauty of love. Cody was an outdoorsman at heart and loved the lake, riding on his tractor, playing with dogs and going to the park. As his strength grew weak, he never let his physical limitations stop him from doing what he loved. When he was indoors, he loved to play with trains, puzzles, and to watch cartoons. Cody also loved music and dancing. Cody lived every day to the fullest. He also gave kisses to all the people he loved. He had the sharpest memory and impressed us daily with his wit and intellect. Cody leaves behind many nurses, doctors and therapists who provided care, compassion, and an ongoing search for his recovery. Survivors: Cody is survived by his parents, Joe and Katy Thomas; paternal grandparents, Ray and Mary Thomas; maternal grandparents, Ed and Karen Weatherly; maternal great-grandparents, Bob and Pat Kobel; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Katy and Joe~

Heartbreaking would be one word, but even that surely pales to how this must be. I pray that the Father wraps his arms around you, comforts you, and strenthens you in the hours, days, weeks, and months ahead.

I'm reminded of a quote that I would like to share, "They say love beyond the world cannot be separated by it. Death cannot kill what never dies." May the blessings of love be upon you and your family from near and afar.

Sent with love~
