David Compton

David Compton passed away after a courageous battle with lung disease, on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016. Celebration of life: 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Marty Leonard Community Chapel, 3131 Sanguinet St., Fort Worth 76107 Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to LOSS Team of Tarrant County, MHA, 2136 W. 4th St., Fort Worth, Texas, 817-733-9123 David was a simple man in many ways and complex in others. He could fix anything from plumbing to cars to computers. He was a chemist for the aerospace industry for over 25 years and before that he worked in the oil industry. His family is convinced that he was a genius, but he said it was just because he took the time to "read the book." He was an amazing husband who made his wife of 35 years feel safe, beautiful and loved every single day. His two sons were his heart and soul and he prepared them well to be independent men. He adored and respected his precious mother and was definitely a momma's boy. We are all better for having had his example of quiet strength and courage in our lives. He also has left us with enough inside jokes to keep us laughing until we meet up again in heaven. David was preceded in death by his father, TD Compton; and his son, Chantz. Survivors: His wife, Julie; son, Collin; mother, Bobbie Compton of Odessa; and sisters, Connie Olsen of Midland and Jackie Toby of Waco.
