Dear Carol, Kaleigh,
Seeing you two last night at the Tanglewood reunion, I sensed something was not right. I knew that David would not have missed this event if at all possible. We were all so saddened and shocked to hear of David's passing. I remember his quiet strength, and devotion to his family and faith. Carol, your's and David's support during Destination Imagination was so appreciated. David lived his life in a way that was an example for so many of us. Kaleigh, you are lucky to have had David as your father, even if it was for too short a time. I'm sure that he will always be with you and in those quite times and when you need it most, if you just listen, he will speak to you and tell you what you need to hear.

Our Dearest Carol and Girls, all of us at Dr Chris Sorokolit's office were devestated to hear we that we had lost David much much to soon. I will always remember how he smiled the day his braces came off; and how he grinned that he finished braces before Kaleigh. He said that they had been in a race and was tickeled that he had finished before she did. He loved to tell us about the family week-end and vacations-and we loved listening. You girls were the true loves of his life. Always know you are all in my thoughts and heart felt prayers, that our Lord God will hold you gently in His hands and surround you all with His love and eternal care...You are all very very loved.
Miss Brenda at Dr Chris Sorokolit's Office. Fort Worth

I'm truly sorry to hear of David's passing. He was an extraordinary human being who seemed like his only purpose in life was to make his fellow human being laugh, and I believe that's what I remember the most about him is his laugh. He will be sorely missed.

My thoughts and deepest sympathy go out to the Swanson family. I was in the band with David at Castleberry. He was an upperclassman, who wasn't too cool to hang time with us younger guys. I know that he is tooting his trumpet with the angels today.

Carol,
David was such a true close friend. He comforted me when needed, gave advice with kind sincerity. I have not seen "the guys" while gaming in some time but David and I always made a point to stop by and say hi at work. We exchanged prayer requests and talked about our families. He always lit up while talking about his ladies. He was an amazing example of a loyal husband and father. He was an inspiration to me. I have many memories of us all through the years of which I will fondly cherish. We Love you and look forward to seeing you soon.

Carol, I was so shocked & so incredibly saddened to here of David's passing. I remember when Kaileigh & Adrienne were in dance together when they were little. That summer, my dad was dying of lung cancer and I will always remember how you ministered to me & comforted me. Our entire family is praying for you & your family during this most difficult time. One thing that helped me with my father was just knowing he was at home with God & someday we will be reunited. Take care & consider this a big hug from me.

My Heart is Broken! David was a good friend to me when I needed a friend. I met him 2 days after I moved near Castleberry, during our high school years. He made me laugh, included me in all the adventures we enjoyed down at the Lake Worth Dam. He made a effort to always have a good time when we were together. A good friend indeed! My heart goes out to his Family & Loved Ones.

David was a colleague at Heritage Auction Galleries. All that came in contact with David (from vendors, workers, organizations) always credited him with such high accolades. David made a great impact on our organization both as a professional and as a friend. He will be truly missed.

Carol, Kathee and girls,
I am deeply saddened to hear of David's passing. I know there are few words that will bring you comfort right now, but know that he is in Heaven with our Heavenly Father. There will be many tears, but also smiles as you remember him as he was. Take comfort in knowing that he loved you dearly and that this was God's plan. My heart goes out to each and every one of you at this time.

David was my co-partner at Heritage Auctions Galleries. I am still making the coffee he brought to our office to share. When we first met I asked him if he liked coffee. He proceeded to go in great detail about his coffee affinity with tremendous enthusiasm. I knew right then and there that whatever he did, he would do with passion. I was so right! I honor him today.

Every memory I have of David are all good ones. From the jokes he and Ed would share, the never ending clue games we used to play during the holidays when he and Kathee became part of my family. The stories he used to tell about his home improvement ventures. He always made me laugh and smile. Words can not express how much he is loved and will be missed. Carol, Kayleigh, Jennifer, Sarah, and Kathee you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Much love to you all.

I've known David for seven years, gamed with him for that entire time, and worked with him for the last 3+ years. He was a good friend and a good co-worker, never making anything harder than it had to be, and always making everything more enjoyable. I will miss seeing him in the office every day; talking with him about sports, movies, or his family; and his impish grin. There is no question that he went the way he would have wanted to -- quickly and surrounded by friends. I just wish that it wouldn't have happened so soon.

I met and then worked with David for a couple of years in Irving at MCI in 2006. I remember him for his belief in Christ, the love of his family - which he spoke proudly of, his healthy love for reading books, drinking good coffee, his love for hunting and Politics. He was a hard worker and believed in being efficient and working ahead. He wasn't afraid to speak his mind and was a good all around friend. We kept in touch up until last Thursday via email. I sometimes would run into him over at Fred's BBQ with people he worked with at HA after he left MCI. I will certainly miss David but look forward to seeing him again one day in heaven.
Carol, David spoke dearly of you and loved you very much. I remember him being so excited about going with you to the Gaylord Texan - I believe it was for your anniversary - and then coming back to work telling me of his disappointment that dinner wasn't what he expected and that you deserved better than that. He wanted you to have the best experience possible. Christ be with you and keep you through this and know God is in control of every situation and is holding you in his arms right now. We lift you and your family up in our prayers.
God Bless You!

I have many many fond memories of David. Years ago when we were teenagers he came to live with my family and I, so we were very close. Although I haven't seen him in years, he's always remained close to my hear, and I have always cherished his friendship. My heart goes out to all of his loved ones.

David was a great man of integrity with a heart of gold. He was a little ornery, but with a dry sense of humor that you could make out as a glint in his eye. At the office, we joked about him being a robot because he was so focused and efficient, being determined and deliberate at everything he did. As one friend put it, “David didn’t do anything halfway”.
One of the last things he said to me when we were reviewing his job performance for 2009 was something to the effect of “people joke that I’m a robot, but I really pay a lot of attention to my co-workers, making sure that they know they are appreciated.” He was the most sensitive of us, always making sure everyone else was happy. He would give gifts out of the blue, just to make sure you felt appreciated. A gift here, lunch there, it was always something that showed that he knew what you liked, and how you were feeling.
He will be missed forever.
