Deborah Conway Obituary

Deborah "Debbie" Rae Hamrick Conway, 62, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015. Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 30, in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visit: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood. My mother was a friend to many. She has known all sorts of people from the famous to the ordinary. No matter who they were, she treated everyone the same. She always traveled her own path and loved the real cowboys and what they stood for. She came from a ranching family and wanted to retire on a small piece of land that her daddy and brothers worked on along with her son and nephews. Deborah was preceded in death by her father, Ollon Ray Hamrick; and granddaughter, Madeline "Maddie" Nicole Bailey. Survivors: Mother, Betty Jean Hamrick; brothers, Troy Hamrick and wife, Jennifer, and Scotty Hamrick; son, Gabe Bailey and wife, LeAnne; nephews, Cary Hamrick and wife, Emily, and Casey Hamrick and wife, MyVan; niece, Chelsea Tubbs and husband, Taylor; great-nieces, Brooklyn Rae Tubbs, Zadie Lynn Hamrick and Lyla Ray Hamrick; and more friends than could ever be counted.

Dearest Deb, Thank you for all of the kindness that you showed to everyone who crossed paths with you. I don't think that I ever saw a day or knew of a time that you were anything less than kind to people. When we met I was just 19 and that was 32 years ago now. What a true loss for everyone here on earth. I will daily think of the laughter that you always shared and offered to all around you. I was honored by the friendship and connection that we shared. Thank you for leaving a beautiful footprint on this earth for mankind. Blessed are all that were touched by you. I will miss you "mucho smoocho". You are always with me...meet me at the pearly gates of heaven when it is my time. All my love!

Aunt Betty, losing someone we love is nothing easy, but knowing that we have been able to be a part of the life of Debbie, we can realize that we are blessed to have been able to share in her life before she went to rest in eternal salvation. My condolences.
