Don Cowden Obituary

Don R. Cowden, 78, beloved husband of Valerie Cowden, departed this world on Wednesday, April 19, 2006, to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ.

Graveside service: 3 p.m. Saturday in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.

Don was born March 22, 1928. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. Early in his career, he was a criminal investigator under Sheriff Lon Evans. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Saginaw and attended the Adult 2 Sunday School Class. He had a passion for flying his plane, "Baby Golf," for many years of his life.

A very special thanks goes out to Universal Hospice Healthcare, whose superior care and kindness cannot go without recognition and much appreciation.

Survivors: Loving wife, Valerie Cowden; son Rorie Cowden and wife, Toni; daughter, Janyce McEwen and husband, James; grandchildren, Lane Cowden and wife, Christina, Chase Cowden, Julie Nunez and husband, Darren, and Jill Peters and husband, Mark; five great-grandchildren who adored their "Grandpa Don"; and his sister, Donna Sue McClinton.
