Round Rock, Texas - Dwight Lee Hummer, 88, passed away on April 24, 2023, in Round Rock, TX. He was born on October 5, 1934, in Chanute, KS to Maurice and Florence Hummer.
Dwight was a loving father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his daughters Leigh Ann Finck of Fort Worth, Kay Muldoon of Arlington, and Nancy Morales of Hutto, and sons-in-law Ted Finck of Fort Worth and Juan Morales of Hutto. He is also survived by his granddaughter Carrie Finck and grandson Julian Morales. Dwight was preceded in death by his father and mother, brother Paul Hummer, and sisters Velma Morris, Colleen Wyatt, and Sue Almond.
Dwight served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959. Following his military service, he pursued a career as a Technical Illustrator and Graphic Artist, working for Boeing Co. and Cessna Aircraft in Wichita, KS, as well as Vought Corp., LTV Corp, Lockheed Martin, and Raytheon E-Systems in Texas. In later years he worked as a real estate agent in the Arlington area. He attended Chanute High School, Wichita Drafting College, Tarrant County Jr. College and University of Texas at Arlington.
Dwight was a Christian and his faith was an integral part of who he was. He worshiped at Lake Arlington Baptist Church and Fielder Church in Arlington. Dwight enjoyed a variety of hobbies including restoring antique clocks, fishing, art, dancing, and Texas Rangers baseball. He was a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors and the North Texas Push Club of Arlington.
A private memorial service was held at Beck Funeral Home in Round Rock.
