Earl Brawley Obituary

Earl Ray Brawley, 85, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2003.

Burial: Saturday in Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson, Calif. Visitation: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Mid-Cities Funeral Home, 5706 Airport Freeway, Haltom City.

Earl was born Feb. 11, 1918, in Ardmore, Okla., to the late James and Bertha Estes Brawley. He retired from Brawley's Restaurant and Bar in California. A loving family man, Earl loved to fish.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mirtie Brawley; brother, Alton Brawley; and twin sister, Essie Mae Gibbs.

Survivors: Children, Darrell Lee Brawley and wife, Mary, of Azle, Earl Edward Brawley and wife, Louise, of Azle and Glenda Carolyn Dempsey and husband, J.W., of Abilene; stepchildren, Jerry Thomas of Oakland, Calif., and Wanda Burgus and husband, Frank, of Santa Clara, Calif.; brothers, Walter Brawley and wife, Gladys, of Oregon and Leonard Brawley and wife, Dorothy, of Oklahoma City; 18 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
