Edwin Bellman Obituary
Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Thompson's Harveson and Cole where a vigil service will begin at 7 p.m.
Memorials: St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 3601 Altamesa Blvd., Fort Worth, Texas 76133.
Edwin Harry was born May 27, 1924, in Brooklyn, N.Y., son of the late Edwin John and Helen Palmer Bellman. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II, from 1943-1945. He was part of the second wave of GIs that hit Normandy in Northern France. He attended Hofstra College in Hempstead, N.Y., and earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn in 1952.
Ed and his wife, Nancy, were married in Brooklyn in 1948. He worked for Fairchild Camera Inc. before moving to Fort Worth in 1963 to work for General Dynamics, now Lockheed Martin. He retired from GD in 1986.
Ed and Nancy were active members of St. Bartholomew for many years. He loved bowling, water skiing and volunteering for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Nancy died just five weeks ago.
Survivors: His children, Edwin R. Bellman and wife, Barbara, Norma Griffith and husband, Bill, and Bill Bellman and wife, Liz; grandchildren, Karen and Edwin Thomas Bellman, Chris and Mike Clinton, Kelli McNally, Will Bellman, Christine Lewis and Michelle Lane; and nine great-grandchildren.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Ed was a large and very special part of my early career days at Lockheed Martin and I will always be grateful for his mentoring, leadership, and friendship. He taught me so much and provided me with so many opportunities to learn. He was a very special man.
