Ellsworth Bell Obituary

Ellsworth "Vernie" Bell passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at the age of 91. Vernie was born June 18, 1920, in Woodward, Okla., to Ira Sydney Bell and Jennie Ann Immell. He was a World War II veteran, serving in India-Burma and central Burma during the China offensive. He retired from General Dynamics. He loved to bowl and travel with friends. Vernie was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Gene Bell. Survivors: Sons, Richard Bell and wife, Debbie, and Darryl Bell and wife, Pam; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Uncle Vernie and Aunt Peggy we miss you so much! Uncle Vernie was such a funny man, who joked around until the last day! I will miss you so much! Richard and Darryl y'all better still come back and visit grandma and us here in Houston. I am so happy that Uncle Vernie is now back with Peggy in Heaven!

Our condolences to the family. My husband and I bowled with Vernie and Peggy at Cityview Lanes for one term. I enjoyed them so very much, they were delightful, warm, friendly people. We are so very sorry for your loss. I know they are happy in heaven together.
