Eloise Miller Obituary
July 8, 1928 - May 31, 2024
North Port, Florida - Eloise Joyce Miller, a woman of great faith, went to be with her Lord on Friday May 31, 2024, in North Port, Florida. She was born July 8, 1928, in Ft. Worth Texas to her late parents Grace Winnie Armstrong Reynolds and Henry Lee Reynolds. Eloise is now reunited with her beloved husband of 58 years Charles Connell Miller and her cherished daughter Susan Ann Miller Dautriel and two precious grandchildren, Michael Ryan and Ashley Rose Dautriel. She is survived by loving sons, Bradley Charles Miller ( and wife Dianne) and Mark Reynolds Miller and son-in-law Leon Dautriel. Her treasured grandchildren include Carrie Miller Jewell and her husband Michael, Matthew Miller and his wife Bess, Brent Miller and Shelby Miller. "Gigi" loved hearing about her great-grandchildren: Olivia, Hammer, and Raleigh Jewell, Maddie and Morgan Miller, Connell and Lelia Miller.
Eloise was raised in Ft Worth, graduated from High School and went to work downtown for a Life Insurance Company. But it was on a blind date that she met a man who loved music and loved to dance: Connell Miller who was just home from serving in WW2. They fell in love right away and married in Weatherford, Texas. An adventurous life began as he enlisted with the Coast Guard, stationed first in Honolulu, then California, Virginia, Louisiana, Georgia and Connecticut. Finally, they retired to Austin, Texas only to fall in love with Florida a few years later. Becoming part of the community was important to her and she was a lifelong member of South Biscayne Baptist Church. Hosting weekly bible studies in her home was one of many ways she used her generous gift of hospitality. She also loved attending Bible Study Fellowship and Christian Women's Club meetings in Texas and Florida, where she made many friends. When we think of Gigi we remember her singing into the ice cream scoop, playing her ukulele, working in her flower beds, and loving all of us deeply.
While we grieve her passing, we know we will see her again.
A graveside service is being planned for a future date in Ft Worth, Texas.
