Eric Schubert Obituary
Funeral: 1 p.m. Sunday at Moore Funeral Home-Bowen Chapel. Inurnment: at a later date. Visitation: The family will receive friends 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Eric was born Feb. 21, 1985, in Chicago Heights, Ill., and later resided in Waterloo, Iowa, and Arlington. He never went anywhere without a friend and an infectious smile. He lived life to the fullest and shared that with all around him. Though he was not long for this world, he will live forever in our hearts and souls.
Survivors: His devoted parents, Jeff and Bonnie; his loving fiancee, Melinda; sister, Andria and her fiance Brian; his grandmothers, Annabelle Roberson and Carol Schubert; his aunts and uncles, Sherry, Jodi, Ronnie and Janette, Joyce and Ronnie, Janet and Mike; and many cousins and extended family.

As I walk around the malls and see all the prom dresses out I can't help but think about how much fun we all had at prom... You were an amazing guy Eric and an even more amazing friend... Thank you for all the smiles and the laughs!

I was only able to hang out with Eric the few times I was at the house with Andria and at EdgeFest. What a character, funny guy!

To Eric, and his family and friends,
It has been one month since you were called to heaven. We all miss you so much. Eric was an amazing person, and one of my best friends for the past 7 years. He was always the one I called whenever I needed to laugh or smile. Eric touched everyone he came in contact with and nothing will ever be the same without you here. Love you Big Daddy! I am so saddened by the news of Eric's death. I was Eric's art teacher in '03, I still have his art work hanging in my classroom. What a GREAT KID! He will truly be missed.

Eric was the guy who you always wanted around. Through his smile and personality alone, he could have moved mountains. The memories i have of him will last forever and i will try to better myself through his words of wisdom. Eric and i meet through his good buddy Randi in early 2000. He use to always want to play some kind of sport everyday. He and Dillon started playing softball w/ me in 2006. The name of the team was "EEZY GOIN" i put him @ short stop and well..... i moved him to 1st base. lol:) and he was a star. That whole team was all about friends,fun and making memories. that season held the best memories of Eric that i will never let fade. because of his talent on the field we went 7and1 and were the champions of the whole league. I just wanted extend my help and condulences to his whole family. Jeff and Bonnie if you ever need help w/ anything PLEASE just let me know

I got the call early on wens. morning informing me of the news. I still haven't let this loss fully sink in, and i don't know if i'll really ever be able to. Even though I haven't seen Eric in years I still remember spending time with Eric when we were little. My best memory would have to be swimming in grandma annabelle's pool in lansing with him. I know that he's watching over me though. I love you and miss you Eric. Aunt Bonnie,uncle Jeff and Andria you guys are in my thoughts and prayers.

This is Debra Moore (Ashley Ndukwu's mother). I remember Ashley and Eric playing together as young adults and always thought he was such a sweet boy. I was shocked when I heard the news of your sweet baby boy.

There are no words to express the depth of our sorrow for how it must feel to lose Eric so young. Eric was friends with both our son’s, Tyler and Ryan and he went on a family vacation with us once. Thanks for making prom and graduation so much fun. I will never forget our Memorial Day trip to the lake before it was even warm enough to get in, but boy were we determined to do it. And thanks for making Laura and me go on that mudding trip; even though we got stuck it was an experience that I will never forget!
