Eva Morrison Obituary

Eva Mae "Eve" Morrison, 91, a retired bookkeeper, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004, in Graham.

Funeral: Noon Saturday at Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial: Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene. Visitation: 8 a.m. Friday to noon Saturday.

Eva Mae was born June 11, 1913, in Abilene, to the late Beatrice Hollis House and Marvin K. House Sr. She was delivered into this world by her grandfather, Dr. L.W. Hollis Sr., in the hospital which he built and owned.

She married Eugene "Gene" Lawrence Morrison 72 years ago on Aug. 22, 1932, in Big Spring, in the home of her parents. She was a loving wife and partner to Gene as they lived in many West Texas towns where he owned or managed cotton gins. She was the bookkeeper in many of the gins they owned. They shared many pleasant experiences in their affiliation in the Baptist churches and in travels in their later years. Eva Mae was a Sunday school teacher in Baptist churches for over 35 years. Eva Mae and Gene were active members of the First Baptist Church of Graham.

Survivors: Husband, Gene Morrison of Graham; sons, Bill Morrison and wife Lola, of Fort Worth, and their children, Jeff and Brett Morrison; Richard Morrison and wife, Vi, of Alvin, and their children, Vicki Waldron, Rachael Janacek and J. Kendall Morrison, and Gary Morrison and, wife Terry, of Punta Gorda, Fla., and children, Michael Morrison, Jill Ferguson, and Erik and Kirk Linaje; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
