Evelyn Ann Francis Alexander, 94, of Hurst passed away peacefully with family by her side Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Evelyn was born in Henryetta, Okla., on Jan. 24, 1918. She married H.A. "Alex" Alexander on March 26, 1938, and they had three beautiful children together. They moved to Richland Hills in 1963, then to Hurst in 1970. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Birdville ISD and retired after 20 years and was a dedicated member of Richland Hills United Methodist Church for over 40 years. She loved her church, family and friends and touched many lives with her sense of humor, love, zest for knowledge and honesty throughout her life. Special thanks to all her nurses and caregivers who showered her with great love and kindness. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Alex; brother, Joe Francis; and sister, Dorothy Tandy. Survivors: Children, Dennis Alexander and wife, Kathy, David Alexander and wife, Donna, Diane Edwards and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Christopher Alexander, Jennifer Kee and husband, Dana, Michael Edwards and wife, Julie, Tony Alexander and wife, Shelly, and Rachael White and husband, Bill; and four great-grandchildren.
