Frank J Feister

September 22, 1933 - November 22, 2023

Ft. Worth, Texas - Frank Feister left Ft. Worth, TX at the age of 90 on November 22, 2023 to join his wife of 68 years, Mary Kristina Ostling Feister, in heaven. Frank had four daughters, all of which survived him: Cherie Hanley, Lori Beckum, Melisa Fahmi, and Rosemary Huckabay. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Geoffrey Helstrom, Nathan Beckum, Eric Fahmi, Amy Ormord, Slayton Cruickshank, and Austin Cruickshank and three grandsons: Sebastian Helstrom, Alexander Helstrom, and Gabriel Helstrom.

He was born in Ely, Nevada on September 22, 1933 to Frank and Frances Feister, grew up in Waldport, OR, and was a longtime resident of Ft. Worth, TX. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean war and received numerous metals including: Silver Star, Purple Heart, Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Metal, Korean Service, United Nations Service, National Defense Service, and Good Conduct.

Much of his career was as a corporate pilot for business jet owners, then as a Boeing 777 flight instructor at American Airlines for 20 years before retiring.

Frank served as a deacon and elder in several churches and was active at Lake Country Church until his health declined. He was a Christian and enjoying sharing the gospel with others.

I tried to send earlier but not sure it went. Frank & Mary were dear friends & I appreciate them checking in with me throughout the years. Frank had the joy of Jesus. His joy bubbled over. I so appreciated his testimony. He even dropped in to visit when I moved to Denton. His obituary is impressive. Frank was humble. I never knew about his medals. The Silver Star is the highest award & Frank was awarded it. I´m sure he saved lives both physically & spiritually. Frank was always ready to share his testimony. I know when Frank & Mary entered heaven Jesus said: "Well done thou good & faithful servant."
I was also in the AF. What a great picture of a younger Frank in his uniform. Thx for sharing. What a legacy to your family. Two wonderful parents.

Cheri, Lori and family-
I am sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I remember both your father and mother well from our days at Boswell which seem so long ago. I recall around 1972 when your dad took me and a couple of others up in his plane for an aerial tour of DFW airport when it was under construction. That was my first flight, and I was full of excitement and adrenaline. That day was a great experience I'll always remember. I wish you peace in the days ahead.

Dear Feister Family,

Many fond memories visiting with Frank and Mary when Kevin and I were much younger. I had the opportunity to see them on TCC NW campus (where I taught as Adjunct Professor of Piano) where they participated in Senior Courses. They lived classical music and would come to my recitals whenever they knew about them.

May sharing memories of them keep them alive in your hearts forever. May God be with you all during this time of grieving. Spiritual hugs...
