North Richland Hills , Texas - George Francis Conant, Jr., 97, went to be with his Savior on August 5 in North Richland Hills. He was born on December 21, 1924 in Fort Worth to George Francis and Rose Josephine Conant.
Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m., Thursday at St. Luke's Methodist Church in Haltom City followed by interment in Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke's Methodist Church in Haltom City.
George served in the Navy during World War II. Following the war, he graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Geology. Following a career as a geologist, he began his career with General Dynamics as Chief of Liaison Engineering which lasted for 31 years. After retirement, he loved to travel with his wife. They traveled to all 50 states and 25 countries, but his favorite hobby was playing golf.
He was a life long member of St. Luke's Methodist Church in Haltom City where he served in many layman positions.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Elizabeth; daughters, Cheryl (Bob) Hopmann and Ann (Gary) Bailey; grandchildren, Marc (Mandi), Jonathan (Lauren), Sarah (Mike), and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Elise, Dorian and Sloane; sister, Alice Josephine Cook; and many nieces and nephews.

One year has passed since George left to be with Our Lord.

George always had a twinkle in his eyes and greeted you with a smile. He will be deeply missed, but we know he is with Our Lord. He is an amazing man. We love you Libby. May George rest in peace. God bless his family.
