Not sure what to say?

Coach Haynie was a life long friend. After he left coaching, for a while he worked for Johnson & Johnson and he furnished my twin girls with formula! I had been in St. Louis and when I returned here, we got several cases of formula.

(I was an Ob Gyn so he could do it legimately)

I did not remember that he was older than Coach Matthews. I don't think the obit mentioned it but he assisted with football for a time.

Another great one gone.

Charles Gray died last week. He was also an assistent to Wilson. He was a great guy, even in the rest of his occupations which included the FBI and Federal Marshal. Never missed a Wilson's Tigers reunion.

Some how, it seems these great guys are backing up closer to my age!

Best to all,

Bill Floyd

Just learned today (2-17) about the death. Talked to Coach for a few minutes after our 50 year reunion. I owe him a lot for the things he did for me in high school in basketball and track. He was a very positive influence in my life at that time. Sorry I did not get by to see him personally before this. My best to all the family at this time.

Remember Coach Haynie from my LRHS days (1946 - 1948). In my memory, he was one of the most respected coaches on staff. He was more friendly than most. Condolences to his family.

I knew George through coaching and by his coaching success. I followed him as coach of LR Tiger basketball. I found that the players were very respectful of him and they had great discipline. This means to me that he was a great leader of young men and he gave them a good foundation for life. We need men like Coach Haynie today.

God loved him and so do I.
