Gregory Gavit Obituary

Gregory Roy Gavit, 51, a truck driver for Stallion Oilfield Services, died Saturday, April 10, 2010, in Jacksboro.
Graveside service: 3 p.m. Tuesday in Prairie Mound Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lucas Funeral Home, 305 W. First St. in Justin.
He was born Sept. 3, 1958, in Sweetwater.
Survivors: Sons, Bart and Nathan Gavit, both of Rhome; daughter, Lacie Gavit of Fort Worth; five grandchildren; father, Vernon Gavit of Muldrow, Okla.; brothers, Wayne Gavit of Muldrow, Roger and Howard Gavit, both of Chelsea, Okla.; sister, Debbie Smith of Justin; mother-in-law, Edna Lou Lambert; and other extended family.

Bart, Nathan, Lacie, Kristin & Kealey, I am so blessed to have been a part of y'alls family/friend circle & to have made memories with "Dad". Greg has made a lasting impression on my heart I will cherish forever! He was such a wonderful dad, pawpaw & friend. He made it known how much his children/grandchildren & family meant to him, you all were his world! Uncle Greg will be greatly missed. I will never forget his smile & his genuine love for life. Bart, Nathan, & Lacey, your daddy thought you guys were the best thing that ever happened to him! But then you gave him grandchildren! I'll never forget all of the beautiful music he wrote & sang. I feel genuinely blessed to have been part of his life & know he was part of mine!
