James Darnell Obituary

James Keith Darnell KELLER--James Keith Darnell, 85, passed away Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, in Grapevine. SERVICE: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Central Christian Church. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Greenwood. Jim was born Dec. 19, 1931, to James R. Darnell and Louise Kohrs in Kansas City, Kan. He served in the U.S. Army for several years. Later, he was employed at General Dynamics and then had a successful career for many years in automobile dealership management until his retirement. Jim had a lifelong love of baseball. He played on the U.S. Army baseball team and later coached youth football and baseball for many years. He was preceded in death by his stepson, Bobby Don Jones. SURVIVORS: Beloved wife of 54 years, Martha O'Hara Jones Darnell; sons, Weldon and Michael Darnell; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Cody.
