James Miears Obituary

James Edward Miears, 85, of Stephenville and formerly of De Leon, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at his residence. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at De Leon First Baptist Church. Interment: Desdemona Cemetery. Jackie Auvenshine will officiate. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home. Memorials: American Cancer Society. Mr. Miears was born Nov. 22, 1924, in Comanche County to Clarence Miears and Ruth Eudora Jones. He was married to Ann Lindley on March 7, 1953, in Brownwood. He taught school in De Leon 14 years and later was employed with the Texas Department of Agriculture as a chemist until his retirement. He was a member of Brush Garage Gang. He loved gardening and working in his yard and collecting arrowheads. He was a member of De Leon First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Doris Burleson and Pauline Kelly; and brother, Roy Gene Miears. Survivors: Wife, Ann Miears of Stephenville; daughters, Lesa Dossey of Breckenridge and Kim Brenia and husband, Roman, of Frisco; sister, Billie Ruth Floyd of Big Lake; and grandchildren, Jarrett Dossey, Clint Dossey, Ashley Reynolds, Jenna Reynolds, Brady Reynolds and Sterling James Brenia.
