James Mixon Obituary

James Lee Mixon

September 5, 1936 - November 23, 2024

Fort Worth, Texas - James Lee Mixon, born on September 5, 1936, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Jim and his wife Glenda were married 65 years and shared a life full of love and adventure. Together, they explored the world, including all 7 continents, creating memories that would last beyond a lifetime.

He was a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and bled burnt orange. He proudly served in the US Navy and later had a successful 35 year career at Lockheed Martin (General Dynamics).

Jim will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication to his family, his zest for life, and wonderful sense of humor. His legacy lives on through his wife, three daughters and their spouses, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren who will continue to honor his memory by living with the same love and enthusiasm he exemplified.

A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, December 10 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Overture Ridgmar 6755 Ridgmar Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Doctors Without Borders or Tunnel to Towers in Jim's memory.

I feel like I have lost a member of my own family. How could anyone who knew Jim not feel the same. Jim was an angel on earth and now he is an angel in heaven. Our love to Glenda and his dear family.
