James Puff Obituary
Born on November 2, 1935, James pursued a distinguished academic path. He attended Paschal High School before enrolling at The University of Texas at Austin. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) and later earned his law degree from The University of Texas at Austin Law School.
James is survived by his loving wife, Joan Byers Puff; his two children, Thomas Hill Puff and wife Lauren Puff, and Nancy Puff Jones and husband Steve Jones; and his brother, Charles Puff and wife Cynthia Puff. He also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren: Sara Katherine Puff, Anna Lauren Puff, Margery Virginia Mustachio, and Harrison Hill Jones; as well as three great-grandchildren: Eva, Lola, and Katherine. Additionally, he is remembered by his two step-daughters, Joanie Shabay and husband Pete Shabay, and Jennifer Bell.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.

Yesterday
Uncle Jim you will always have a special place in my heart. You were my Father´s big brother and he adored you very much. The bird shoots in Hico and the countless Christmas Eve´s and most of all your story telling I will always treasure. His voice saying "hello John Jr. give me five" every time we showed up at his house will echo in the corners of my mind always.

I´ve always said Jim Puff was my favorite lawyer because he was always the perfect gentleman and he was always so kind to me. He was just a really nice guy. We´ll really miss you, dear friend. Happy trails. Love you. Hugs to you, dear Joan.

So sorry to hear of Mr. Puff's passing- A great lifelong friend to my Dad and always the best host of Dove hunts and catfish fries at his Hico ranch! Many fond memories. Thoughts and prayers to his family.
