THEIS Sandra S. Theis, age 68, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012. Sandra was a graduate of Worthington High School and received her Bachelor's Degree from Franklin University. She then went on to receive her Master of Library Science from Kent State University. Sandra loved books and theater and was a retired faculty member of Columbus State University. She spent many years sharing her passion for learning with her students. Sandra was preceded in death by her husband Herb Theis, and father Gilbert T. Savage. She is survived by her mother, Grace Savage of Grove City; special friend, Julius Ehrlich; sisters, Judy Hulley, Marilinda Passon, Carol Palantekin; brother, David Savage; numerous nieces and nephews; one great-niece and one great-nephew. Private family services will be held. Contributions in Sandra's memory may be made to Glenwood United Methodist Church, 2833 Valleyview Dr., Columbus, OH 43204. I worked with Sandra as her chairman for over a decade at Columbus State and was always impressed by her intelligence, dedication to her students, conscientiousness, and hard work. She loved teaching and learning. I am sorry to hear of her passing. I and her many students will miss her.

My condolences to the family and friends of Sandra Theis at her passing. I will always think kindly of her as a friendly and helpful colleague at Columbus State. I was so thankful at her generosity for volunteering to develop the index for the writing guide I wrote. She'll stay in my thoughts.
