Arlington, Texas - Janet Lee Parsons was born on Sept. 12, 1953 and went to be with the Lord on March 6, 2021. Jan was the only child of Bob and Marion Parsons. Jan was an advocate for all animals and devoted her life to rescuing cats and finding loving homes for them. After 30 years of teaching, Jan retired as a teacher at Arlington High School as an English and Speech teacher and was in the Debate Club. She obtained a degree from SMU in Acting and a degree from UTA in Speech and English. Jan also taught dance at Buddy Harris Dance Studio performing in different pageants, she was an avid tap dancer. Jan was also a talented singer, she had the opportunity to sing on the Lawrence Welk show. Surviving members are her mother, Marion Parson, all her animals, aunts, cousins, and friends. Preceding Jan's death was her father, Robert (Bob) Lee Parsons, retired Captain at the Arlington PD., Dalworthington Gardens PD. Viewing will be Monday, March 15, 2021 from 10am to 12pm at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home, 500 E. Main St. Grand Prairie, Tx 75052. The funeral will follow the viewing at 12pm. She will be laid to rest at Watson Cemetery, 1024 N. Watson Road, Arlington, TX 76011 Her mother asked in lieu of flowers please make donations to Marion Parsons, 1634 Brent Court, Grand Prairie TX. 75051. Marion will continue caring for the cats and dogs that are already in Jan's rescue.
