Arlington, Texas - Janice Faye Gotcher Russell, 80, passed away on October 12, 2025.
Visitation: 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Greenwood Funeral Home in Memorial Suite B, 3344 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Funeral Service: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in Greenwood's Live Oak Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107; with a reception to follow from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Affectionately known as Jan, she was born on August 29, 1945, in Terrell, Texas, to parents, Jesse Faydee and Dollie Jean Gotcher. Her work career consisted of working as a bookkeeper for Home Entertainment before transitioning to Home Building and Lumber Co. where she started as the bookkeeper and worked her way to the vice president of the company. At one point, she managed all three businesses. She also worked for Entron Computer where she was co-owner and chief financial officer, and Daylen's Storage Co., which she owned.
In her free time, Jan loved playing bridge, various games, decorating, and hosting parties.
Jan was preceded by her parents, Dollie Jean Stone and Jesse Faydee Gotcher; sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Tom Sikes; son-in-law, Charles Bobby Lewis; brother-in-laws, Jack Gallagher, John Gough, and Joe Russell; sister-in-laws, Jerry and Phil Snow, and Colene and Sherman Brown; and In-laws, Ruby Cole Russell Murray and Hale Russell.
She is survived by husband, Walter Mark Russell; children, Shelley and Marcus McNamara, and Cindy and Danny Corbitt; grandchildren, Cason and LuVenia Corbitt, Brandon and Kaitlyn Lewis, Austin Corbitt and Alex and Briana McNamara; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Julie Gallagher-Gough; 12 nieces and nephews; and many, many cherished friends and neighbors.
