Jerrell D. Perkins, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 23, 2014. Service: 10 a.m. Saturday, July 5, at Open Door Church, 301 S. Dobson St., Burleson. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Hospice, 1208 W. Henderson St., Suite B, Cleburne, Texas 76033. Jerrell Perkins was born April 17, 1936, to Wilma James Perkins Bird and Grady Monroe Perkins in Brownfield. He started a 70-year career in the newspaper business at the age of 7 with a paper route for the Standard Times in San Angelo, and ended his career owning Perkins Printing in Burleson. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma; father, Grady; sister, Betty Clowdis; brothers, Ferrell Perkins and E.L. "Slick" Perkins; and great-grandchildren, Macey Coffey and Gloria Parks. Survivors: Loving wife, Louise Perkins; daughters, Becci Wilhite, Robin Perkins Haney and spouse, Terry Haney; sons, Lance Perkins and spouse, Shanda, Lance Rankin and spouse, Amy; mother-in-law, Estelle Huneycutt; sister, Faye Dobbs and spouse, Loyd; brother, David Bird and spouse, Marla; brother-in-law, Horace Clowdis; sister-in-law, JoAnn Perkins; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
