Jerry Arden Nelson

Jerry Arden Nelson, 79, of Fort Worth passed away Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Anne's Anglican Church, 6055 Azle Ave., in Fort Worth. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorials go to Drake University or the National Parkinson's Foundation. Jerry was raised in Iowa, where he attended Drake University and met his wife, Dolores. He continued his studies while working at Diamond Laboratories and earned his M.S. in pharmacology. The couple later moved to Fort Worth where Jerry worked for Alcon Laboratories. He then served as the CEO of Summa Rx Laboratories in Mineral Wells for 21 years. Jerry was an accomplished pharmaceutical scientist, businessman and member of the Mineral Wells Rotary until his retirement. He was an active member of St. Anne's Church. Jerry will be remembered for always making people feel welcome, knowing everyone by name, and remembering birthdays and anniversaries. He had a spirited sense of humor and found a way to add levity each day. Survivors: Jerry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dolores; daughters, Joy Isham of Fort Worth and Julia Nelson of Eden Prairie, Minn.; sister, Liz Larson of Omaha, Neb.; and grandson, Jack Morris of Eden Prairie, Minn.
