Fort Worth, Texas - Jimmy Flores, a veteran of the Vietnam War and a lifelong resident of Fort Worth passed away August 18, 2023. Jimmy was born on July 30, 1945 to Josephine and Joe Flores. He graduated from Trimble Tech High School before enlisting in the Marine Corps. After completing his tour of duty, he was stationed at Camp Lejeune where he met his future wife and fellow marine, Shirley Flores. The couple returned to Texas to raise their two daughters, Yvette and Shelly. Jimmy was employed by Miller Brewing Company which provided him and his young family with lasting friendships. After 32 years of service with the company he retired to enjoy his family.

Of all the roles Jimmy had, being a devoted grandfather brought him the most joy. He was tremendously proud of his grandchildren and loved them wholeheartedly.

Jimmy was known to many in the community and his neighborhood. He always lent a helping hand and will be greatly missed by countless family, friends and neighbors.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father Joe Flores and mother Josephine Flores.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Shirley Flores; daughters Yvette Flores and Shelly Flores (Daniel Hurtado); grandchildren, Taylor Loe (Michael), Dylan Mosley, Morgan Hurtado and Evan Hurtado; sisters Connie Nieswiadomy (Herman) and Gloria Kelsey (James); along with numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Inurnment service with military honors will be held at DFW National Cemetery Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023 at 11:15 AM.
