Joan Schlitz Obituary

Joan Katherine Schlitz, 65, passed away peacefully after a long illness Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015. Service: 12:30 p.m. Monday in Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth. Joan was born in Grand Forks, N.D., on Aug. 25, 1949, and moved to Texas with her family. She graduated from Paschal High School and went to Texas Tech studying art. She was a gifted artist and used her talents for many years as a visual display merchandiser at some of the retail stores in the Metroplex. Painting was a true passion. Loving her husband, mother, sisters and two dogs filled her days and she will be sorely missed. Survivors: Her loving husband of 31 years, Donald N. Schlitz of Fort Worth; mother, Dorothy Samuelson of Fort Worth; sisters, Susan Mix of Coppell and Diane Webster of Terrell; and many nieces and nephews.
