Lawton, Oklahoma - Joe Briley, 72, passed away Monday, Nov. 27, 2023, in Lawton, Okla.
Graveside: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023, in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2023, at Greenwood.
Joe graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1969. He attended the University of Oklahoma and earned a bachelor's degree in Business while in the Naval ROTC. Joe served in the U.S. Navy. He completed a master's degree in Computer Technology at the University of Texas at Arlington. While in Fort Worth he was employed at General Dynamics. He later retired from TELOS as a computer engineer in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Preceded in death by his father, Fred Briley; mother, Helen VanAntwerp; and brother, Steve Rousseau.
He is survived by his sister, Ann Weiss; sister-in-law, Deb Nelson Rousseau; nephew, Christopher Weiss; nieces, Robyn Weiss Jimenez, and Shannon Rousseau; his dearest friends, Jim and Hazel Fletcher of New Zealand; great-nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Joe Briley Good Man, an Excellent Software Engineer, worked with him for many years with Telos and others on the SEC FD Fires Contract and yep you knew he had been Navy when he encountered an avoidable issue that was caused by a bad programming the term cursed like a Sailor sure Fit. Fair Winds Good Sir.

Rocky and I met up in elementary school. Went to Stripling and AHHS together. Graduated in 1969. Over the years we have met up a few times. Last at our 50th reunion. While he was black shoe, and I was brown shoe, we were both Navy. Our paths did cross. "Time is short and it doesn't return again." Rest In Peace Shipmate.
