Graveside service: 2 p.m. Thursday in Holly Hills Memorial Park in Granbury. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wiley Funeral Home.
Memorials: Universal Hospice.
Mr. Thrash was born July 2, 1918, in Hill City. He married Willie Mae Fisher on Dec. 7, 1937, in Brownwood. He served in the Army Air Forces during World War II.
Mr. Thrash was a Hood County resident all his life and had served on the Granbury City Council. He was instrumental in establishing the city pool and the Granbury Airport. He was a past member of the board of directors for the Dallas Apparel Mart.
Mr. Thrash had a passion for playing golf and was always seen with his Travis Club cigar. He was well known for his ability to wager a bet, win, lose or draw. An incredible story teller, he had an incredible knowledge of history, both local and afar. He also enjoyed training cutting horses for competition.
Mr. Thrash was a tremendous asset to Granbury and Hood County and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors: Daughters, Wynona "Noney" Jackson of Aledo and Karen McLeish of Odessa; grandchildren, Jonette Jackson of Arlington, John Jackson of North Richland Hills and Sean Robert McLeish of Odessa; great-granddaughter, Coral Jackson of North Richland Hills; sister, Sib Sawyer of Granbury; numerous other relatives; and a host of friends.
