Johnnie Wayne Rollins, 82, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015, at his Acton residence. Funeral: 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Wiley Funeral Home. Interment: Acton Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Johnnie was born Jan. 9, 1933, in Granbury to Marlin Arlington Rollins and Louetta Sledge Rollins. He married Billie Jean Owen on Feb. 18, 1955; she preceded him in death after 52 years of marriage. On Jan. 19, 2012, he married Billye McGehee. Known as "Mr. Peanut," Johnnie served as president of the Southwestern Peanut Growers Association. He lobbied for soil and water conservation and served on the Soil Conservation Board. He served on the board for Brazos Electric Co-op and served for 29 years on the board for United Electric Co-op. He also served as a board member for the Granbury ISD. He was also preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Sherry Kirby Rollins. Survivors: Wife, Billye McGehee Rollins of Granbury; son, Grover Rollins of Granbury; daughter, Susie Collins and husband, Floyd, of Estes Park, Colo.; grandchildren, Christopher Rollins, Alden Townsend, Ashton Collins, Rhianna Collins and Sophia Collins; many nieces and nephews; and many friends.
