Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Pleasant Mount Gilead Baptist Church, 5312 Houghton St. Burial: Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Viewing: noon to 6 p.m. Friday at Belton's Funeral Home, 5137 Bonnell St. Visitation: 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
Mr. Walker was born July 6, 1924, in Oakwood.
Survivors: Wife, Blanchie Walker; sons, Joe Jr., Sam, Danny and Dino; daughters, Cynthia Johnson and Sharon Holloman; brothers, Esker and Napolean Walker; sisters, Vera Gross and Eddie and Sophia Walker; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
