Josephine Courtney Obituary
Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 13, at Greenwood Funeral Home. Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 14, in Independence Chapel in Greenwood Mausoleum, and will be open to all family, friends and loved ones.
Honorary pallbearers: Will A. Courtney Sr., Allen Courtney, James M. Greenwell, Cecil Ray, Christopher Stanley, Wallace Schmuck and Trey Bull.
Memorials: American Cancer Society, 3301 West Freeway, Fort Worth, Texas 76107.
Jo Pat was born in Fort Worth and graduated from Central High School. She was a member of River Crest Country Club, Ridglea Country Club, the Fort Worth Woman's Club and the Jewel Charity Ball. She was primarily a homemaker but worked for a short time at the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce.
Jo Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and Patrick Orr; and her husband, Quintard Peters Courtney Jr.
Survivors: Daughter, Patricia Delaney; son, William Barse Stanley Jr.; daughter, Mary Martha Linn; brother and sister-in-law, Will A. and Esther Courtney; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and five great-grandchildren.

Family Members,
I was so sorry to hear of Jo Pat's passing. Due to a previously scheduled medical procedure, I was unable to attend the related services and hope you will accept my deepest apology for that. I guarantee I was there in spirit and your family will have my prayers and thoughts for the foreseeable future. There will always be that bond between our families for obvious reasons.

Jo Pat has been a friend of mine for many years. When I lived in Ft. Worth we always celebrated our January birthdays together. I now live in North Carolina but will be in Texas this week to pay my respects to Jo Pat's family. She was always a beautiful,lovely lady and very gracious. I will miss her.

I knew Jo Pat for 14 years ( 1985 - 1999 ) through the Who's Who and Dallas 200 singles clubs. She was always the perfect lady. Her social skills and soft spirit were unsurpassed, and she will be greatly missed.

Will Sr. & family I just wanted to stop by and offer anything. I know my father Louis Jr. really enjoyed Jo-Pat's company. After a few months apart from each other maybe they are back to talking to each other in a better place
